Lifeline Puzzle (2023)

Lifeline Puzzle polyptych emerges from a period of profound introspection and personal struggle, embodying themes of resilience, connection, and the delicate balance between vulnerability and strength. Comprising six square acrylic paintings, the work is united by an interplay of organic forms and sky-inspired backdrops, creating a visual narrative that speaks to the interconnectedness of human experiences.

Each panel functions as both an individual expression and a fragment of a larger story, illustrating the mosaic-like nature of life’s adversities and triumphs. By offering these pieces to the viewers, Minjie extends an invitation to engage with the work not only as observers but as participants in an evolving dialogue.

The journey of Lifeline Puzzle is deeply personal. While the majority of the work is shared by collectors, the artist decided to carry the final piece with her as she navigates life’s uncertainties, drawing solace from the knowledge that the other segments are held by others, creating a metaphorical lifeline that spans time and space. The polyptych serves as a poignant reminder of the beauty inherent in shared connections and the courage required to embrace life’s fragility while continuing to move forward.
